Introducing Tenant Notices: Send Late, Entry, Vacate, and Custom Notices Right from Rentquill

Send late rent, entry, vacate, and custom notices to tenants directly from Rentquill — no more drafting emails by hand.

Landlords and property managers send a lot of notices — reminders about late rent, heads-up before an inspection, formal notice to vacate, or just a one-off message that doesn't fit a template. Until now, that meant leaving Rentquill to draft an email or letter by hand. Not anymore.

We've added a Send Notice feature to the tenant detail page, so you can generate and send professional, ready-to-go notices in seconds — without leaving the app.

What you can send

  • Late Rent Notice — one click. Rentquill automatically finds the tenant's oldest overdue payment, calculates how many days late it is, and sends a notice with the amount due, due date, and days late already filled in.
  • Notice of Entry — enter the date, an optional time window (e.g. "9am – 12pm"), and a reason (like an inspection or repair), and we'll generate a properly formatted entry notice.
  • Notice to Vacate — specify the date the tenant needs to be out by, and we'll send a clear, formal vacate notice.
  • Custom Notice — need to say something else entirely? Write your own subject and message, and send it as a formal notice through the same trusted channel.

How it works

From any tenant's detail page, click Send Notice, choose the notice type, fill in the relevant details, and hit send. The notice goes out by email to the tenant (and any co-signers on file), formatted with your property name, address, and a link back to the tenant's portal — so everything stays organized and easy to follow up on.

For late rent specifically, there's a dedicated Send Late Notice shortcut right on the tenant page — no form needed. Rentquill pulls the overdue payment details automatically and sends the notice immediately.

Why it matters

Consistent, timely notices are one of the simplest ways to stay on top of your rental business — and to stay compliant with local notice requirements for entry and vacate situations. By handling this directly inside Rentquill, every notice is tied to the tenant's record, sent from a consistent format, and one less thing you have to draft from scratch.

Give it a try next time a payment is late or you need to schedule a visit — it's already live on your tenant pages.
